News for the week of the 2nd, of July, 2000, to the 8th, of July, 2000.
- Monday
- I implemented the server push script cam, only to find out that the
implementation only works for Netscape. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get around to
doing some Java Script magic, making it so that Netscape users will get the
server push cam, and Internet Explorer users will get the Java Script cam.
If all else goes well, I think that I may start working on the Java Cam, which
will use neither of the technologies, and be much cooler. ;)
- Tuesday
- Great news! I got rid (hopefully) of the caching problems that were
experienced with Internet Explorer. Not only that, but when the camera is
off line, the picture will change to let you know.
- Thursday
- Based upon some suggestions of a friend with a slower connection then I had, I
decided to make the script cam wait until the picture is loaded until it starts
the count down until the next picture... Basically, that will mean that you
will get to see the picture in it's full resolution for 15 seconds until the
next one loads...
This has the side effect of reducing the load on the server when the load is
higher then normal.
- Saturday
- I've been having some trouble with one of my fish, (the male). It seems to
have contracted some sort of fungus... Actually, it's had it for about a week
now... Anyway, I did a partial water change today, hopefully that will help
some. I also added some more salt into the tank as a stress reliever. I'm
hoping that this will help perk it up a little.
Places to go...
